Privacy policy
Updated 26 September 2026
In short
- Your data is stored on your phone.
- It leaves the phone only when you decide: with family sync, or when you share a summary or backup yourself.
- No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. We sell nothing.
- Your personal journal is never included in doctor summaries.
Who we are
Ditari i Bebes (Baby Diary) is an app for parents, during pregnancy and after birth. It helps you log your baby’s daily care and your own health. This policy explains what the app stores, where it stores it and what you can do with it. The data controller is the developer of Ditari i Bebes (contact at the end).
What the app stores
Only what you enter. Nothing is collected automatically.
About your baby:
- name and date of birth (both optional);
- feeds: breastfeeding (with a timer), bottle and ml amounts, solid foods and food reactions;
- pumping, including ml per breast;
- diapers (including diaper rash), sleep, baths, routines and activities;
- vitamins, supplements and medicines, with the doses and times you enter;
- temperature, growth (weight, length, head circumference), milestones, baby firsts, vaccines and doctor visits;
- your notes.
About you, in “My profile”:
- your name (optional) and due date (or the first day of your last period, used to work out the due date);
- vitals: blood pressure, weight, temperature and blood glucose;
- your symptoms, mood and medicines;
- your own doctor appointments;
- your personal journal.
Settings: language (Albanian, English, Italian), appearance and text color, goals, reminders and the sections you track.
Much of this is health data: temperature, medicines, vaccines, food reactions, rash, growth, pregnancy information, vitals, symptoms and mood. We use it only to show it back to you in the app. You decide what to enter and can delete it at any time.
Where it is stored
On your phone. By default everything is stored only in the app’s storage on your device. We cannot see it.
Family sync (optional). If you create or join a family code, a copy of your entries and shared settings is stored in a database at Supabase, our hosting provider, on a server in the European Union. This lets two phones see the same data. It travels encrypted (HTTPS) and can only be read with your 12-character family code.
Please note: with sync on, your “My profile” entries, including your personal journal, are visible on every phone that uses the same code. Share the code only with people you choose.
Language, appearance, text color and reminders stay on each phone and are not synced.
What we do not collect
- no account, email address or phone number;
- no location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone;
- no advertising identifiers, analytics or third-party trackers.
Reminders (for vitamins, medicines, pumping, baths and appointments) are scheduled on the phone itself and never pass through a server.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your data for advertising. It leaves your phone only when you decide:
- through family sync;
- when you use “Summary for the pediatrician” or “Summary for my doctor” and choose where to send it (the doctor summary never includes your journal);
- when you use “Export backup”.
We disclose data to an authority only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it and how to delete it
- On the phone: until you delete the entries or uninstall the app.
- Synced copy: “Leave this code” stops syncing on that phone. To have the family’s copy deleted from the server, email us at the address below with your family code. We delete it within 30 days.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export and delete your data, and withdraw your consent at any time. Most of this you can do yourself in the app: every entry can be edited or deleted with a tap, and “Export backup” gives you everything as text. For anything else, email us.
You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country: in Albania, the Commissioner for the Right to Information and Personal Data Protection; in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Children
The app is meant for adult parents and caregivers. Information about the baby is entered by the parent. The app is not directed at children as users.
Security
We use HTTPS and long family codes that are hard to guess. The server table cannot be read or listed directly. Keep your phone locked and don’t post your family code publicly.
Not a medical device
Ditari i Bebes is a diary, not a diagnostic tool. Guides and warnings are general information. Discuss any concern about your own or your baby’s health with your doctor, midwife or pediatrician. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. We will also mention important changes in the app.
